Multi format video switcher

The Roland V-800HD MKII AV mixer, in this second MKII updated and improved version, is a renewed interface to improve your workflow. Newly added AUX bus delegation level switches improve both visibility and operability .

Applications of the Roland V-800HD

Supporting live events requires being ready for an ever changing variety of input sources. The Roland V-800HD MK II features scaling for each input and a wide variety of common video connectors that allow camera, data and smart device sources with different resolutions and frame rates to be automatically detected, scaled and then adjusted as needed . Position fine-tuning for each input can be set in real-time using joystick positioner control or from the menu displayed on the multi-viewer.

Conferences, meetings and presentations

The Roland V-800HD MK II's 4:4:4/10-bit processing ensures pixel-accurate color , making it the ideal switcher for large screens over 300 inches , and ensures that the crisp detail of high-resolution data sources resolution are transmitted clearly to today's low dot pitch LED displays. The new AUX bus select level makes it easier than ever to send a source to a second output destination such as a trusted monitor, presenter notes display, second display, or overflow rooms.

Halls, theaters and churches

The Roland V-800HD MK II switcher is also a powerful solution for installation in facilities that have both professional and inexperienced operators . Complex settings can be recalled with one-touch memory recall, and a straightforward interface makes it easy to use without training. Two still images are assignable to the crosspoints from a choice of 16 stored internal images. This is useful for displaying corporate or institutional logos and security slides. The V-800HD MK II also makes it easy to create up to 3 "angles" from a single camera source with the multi-zoom function's high-resolution scaling.

Webcast switching

Modern webcasts require a variety of camera and computer sources of different formats. The V-800HDMKII simultaneously supports video resolutions of 1080i, 1080p, 720p, 480i/p and computer data resolutions up to WUXGA, allowing you to meet high-quality webcast requirements. The built-in PnP and Key Compositing features are ideal for creating informative training and news webcasts.

Stellar image quality at 1080P (3G-SDI)

It supports 1080p video signals at bit rates up to 3Gbps, twice the speed of conventional HD . It asserts all the vibrancy of high-realism, high-detail camera and computer sources.

roland vr 4hd

Multi-format presentations

No need to convert the input source to match the video output format. Built-in scalers up-convert and down-convert any video source to the optimal resolution.

roland vr 4hd

Full range of connectivity

The Roland V-800HD MK II supports a large number of input formats, from analog to digital, with all the necessary connectors. SDI connectors accommodate 3G, HD and SD. The DVI-I connectors do the job for DVI-D, DVI-A and even HDMI using a simple HDMI to DVI adapter. The 15-pin Mini D-Sub connector accommodates SD/HD component and computer input via RGB.

roland vr 4hd

Equipped with AUX BUS switch

Easily switch sources connected to the assignable AUX outputs with the dedicated AUX level switches. This is ideal for selecting which source is sent to a trusted monitor or secondary destination .

New design for shows and live events

Internal 4:4:4/10-BIT processing

The V-800HD MK II uses internal 4:4:4/10-bit signal processing. This allows you to perform compositing and output without any reduction of high detail RGB signals driven by a computer. The result is crisp, blur-free viewing of video and text , even on large screens and LED displays. The V-800HD MK II offers high picture quality for all uses, from live broadcasts to event displays.

roland vr 4hd

Newly developed key-compositing engine

Along with improved internal signal processing, a newly developed keyer is included. Chroma Key allows you to adjust the phase range, amount of chroma and other parameters based on the HSV color space which is closely related to human color sensation. This allows for high quality and tight chroma key compositing even when using 1080p video sources . Additionally, the V-800HD MK II can accept a foreign key. This attractively composes colorful CG titles and gradation/transparency clips, allowing for even more impressive visual effects.

roland vr 4hd

Multiviewer output for source monitoring

The multiviewer output allows you to monitor the status of all input sources plus the Program and Preview outputs . The convenient HDMI connector allows the use of a readily available and affordable monitor.

roland vr 4hd

* Use an HDMI monitor that supports HDCP and 60p signals.
* SDI and composite inputs are displayed at the source's original frame rate.
DVI-I/HDMI and RGB/Component inputs are displayed using a reduced frame rate.
* Changing the channel crosspoint assignments changes the order of the sources displayed.
* Still images imported from USB memory are not displayed on the source monitor.

Built-in HDCP mode

When you play a Blu-ray Disc that contains commercial content or digital broadcast programs, the digital output is encoded using High bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), which is a means of copyright protection. This means that switchers that are not HDCP compliant will not display or pass through such video content, even in cases where permission for use in a live event has been obtained from the copyright holder. To solve this problem, the V-800HD MK II has a dedicated mode that officially supports HDCP . An indicator on the panel allows you to check the operational status when the unit is in HDCP mode.

roland vr 4hd

* In HDCP mode, no video signals are output from the analog or SDI connectors.
* The display or projector connected to a digital output must also be HDCP compliant.

Top-notch performance every time

A superior, easy-to-use interface for managing effects and switching for great results.

1 - SCALING

Scaler that you can use however you want

The Roland V-800HD MK II features scalers that allow you to make independent settings for each input source. With these, you can take input sources of different resolutions and scale them to any size and resolution, including odd sized LED walls. You can freely scale digital, analog RGB and component sources.

2 - PinP/KEY/DSK (Down Stream Keyer)

A full range of keyers

In addition to the new Picture-in-Picture (PinP), Luminance Key, Chroma Key and DSK for 4:4:4/10-bit input, you can also use a foreign key.
* DSK cannot be used during foreign key operations.

3 - AUX BUS

AUX BUS

New switch on the AUX bus. It is possible to output a completely different image from the main bus switching image. It is possible to send the image after adjusting the position by the scaler from the selector on the front panel in a change of cut.

4 - USB MEMORY

USB port for importing still images

The Roland V-800HD MK II can store up to 16 still images imported from a USB memory device.

5 - MEMORY

Memory banks that support worry-free configuration recall

Eight sets of panel settings can be saved in each of eight banks, for a total of 64 sets. By saving complex settings in advance in this way, you can instantly recall them when you need them.

6 - INPUTS

Assignable crosspoints for desired layout

You can assign video sources to the crosspoints in any order you like, instead of having to use the numerical order of the rear panel connectors. This allows you to reorder and move video feeds when sudden changes in camera lines or differences in format create gaps between crosspoints.
* A removable magnetic label template is included showing the factory default status.

7 - TRANSITION

Carefully selected transition patterns

The simple design makes selecting a transition pattern as easy as pressing a button marked with an icon. You can also precisely set the length of transition times, using seconds or frames.

roland vr 4hd

1 - DVI-I/HDMI input

Up to WUXGA, 1080p

Multi zoom

Using the shared input function, the video on channel 1 can be assigned to channels 2 to 4 and the video on channel 5 to channels 6 to 8. The scaler for each input can zoom to any position in the video image allowing multi-camera virtual environment . This gives the impression that you have additional cameras connected.

roland vr 4hd

MIDI control

You can use MIDI to connect the V-800HD MK II with other products including Roland's V-Mixing system and even another V-800HD MK II.

roland vr 4hd

Connect the V-800HD MK II to a V-Mixer console for a true "audio follows video" solution . When you take a live video source, you can have the audio level instantly recalled.

roland vr 4hd
