System program Version 1.20

Enhance your live streaming creative capabilities, the VR-1HD ver. 1.20 includes Chroma Key visual effects for background replacement, motion scene switching for smooth transitions between complex scenes, and a unique Picture by Picture layout for showing two video sources side-by-side.

Your plug and play broadcast studio

The Roland VR-1HD has three "worry-free" HDMI inputs , and each of them accepts a variety of HD and computer video resolutions. This allows you to connect, switch and stream different sources including cameras, presentations, games and even smartphones and tablets without having to think about it. Audio from these sources can be mixed with the two studio-quality XLR microphone inputs and dedicated line input. Best of all, since the VR-1HD is designed for live broadcasting, its dedicated controls and top-mounted mic input (with gooseneck mic) keep you hands-free and headset-free while livestreaming .

Upgrade to higher livestreams

When preparing a video for upload, editing software can add some impressive layering options, including professional transitions that make live video look boring in comparison. The Roland VR-1HD Streaming AV Mixer features built-in Scene Switching to instantly jump between scenes that contain preset arrangements of layered sources, displayed within customizable inset windows. Set up scenes in advance and call them up via the five scene preset buttons , to make your livestream much more interesting.

Stand out from the crowd

Chroma keying and green screens put a subject in front of a background that isn't really there and is a high-end visual effect found in movies and used by meteorologists. Stand out from the crowd of live streamers to broadcast live from the beach or another planet, or use chroma key technology to advertise and promote your products, all from the comfort of your home.

Integrated video director

When you are presenting a livestreaming vlog or doing a live musical performance, normally you would need another person to help you switch cameras. The Roland VR-1HD, on the other hand, lets you go it alone with three automatic switching modes that take the trouble to initiate the broadcast.

Video follows audio

The VR-1HD switches cameras based on who is speaking into its microphone. If both people are speaking at the same time, or if no one is speaking, the VR-1HD can switch to a wide view showing both presenters.

Beat Sync switching

Start playing the music and your Roland VR-1HD mixer will switch to different camera inputs based on the playback tempo or music of your DJ performance, letting you act as your own personal VJ.

Auto scan

For long unattended live streams , set the VR-1HD to cycle through sources in a predefined order, or randomly, at a pace you choose.

A true sound engineer

Put your audio on autopilot and relax, thanks to the VR-1HD's Auto Mixing function . Just like having an audio engineer, you can make sure different audio inputs aren't competing, while also checking that the sound stays balanced. You can even set some inputs to take priority, so when the guest starts talking, other audio levels are automatically reduced. Audio from your input sources can change automatically when you switch video sources, activating the Audio Follows Video feature - one less thing to worry about during your livestream.

Sounds its best

No one talks about good sound when watching a live stream, but it sure gets noticeable when it's bad. Professionals use sound equalizers to balance the highs and lows of audio, gates to keep open mics silent unless someone is speaking, and compressors to balance out volume changes when speaking or singing. All of these are featured in the VR-1HD to make sure everyone sounds their best on air, along with reverb if someone's inspired to sing and needs some ambience.

Radically transform your voice

Roland produces the legendary VT series of Voice Transformers , used by creators, players and singers to radically change their voice in real time. This technology means that a man can sound like a woman, a woman can sound like a man, and anyone can sound like a robot, monster, or alien. Derived from Roland's VT series, the VR-1HD's Voice Changer effect can be applied to mic inputs, and each input also has its own Voice Changer settings, so people can sound like someone else - or something else - completely.

Sounds and stingers on request

Some of the biggest radio and video personalities incorporate a signature soundtrack and sound effects, known as stinger, which become part of their branding and image. The VR-1HD lets you add your own custom sound effects via USB memory , including jingles or even a theme song, and instantly activate them via the four Audio Effects buttons on the VR-1HD's top panel.

Connect to your PC, connect to your audience

The Roland VR-1HD AV mixer uses the same connection technology as webcams, so just connect to your computer via USB 3.0 and launch the software for live casting or recording. Then jump right into a professionally produced Full HD broadcast on your favorite platform, including Twitch, YouTube or Facebook Live.

roland vr 1hd

RCS extension

RCS VR-1HD software is designed to control the VR-1HD using a computer. By connecting the VR-1HD to your computer via USB, you will be able to copy (backup) settings or update the VR-1HD's system software, as well as control the unit remotely from your computer.
